Better Together: How Effective Collaboration Fuels Rokt’s Success

At Rokt, we’re proud to be building a company that tackles the biggest challenges in ecommerce. Whether we’re driving additional revenue for ecommerce businesses or creating more rewarding shopping experiences for their customers, our success has only been possible with our talented team of Rokt’stars working closely together.

Collaborating in-person can unlock moments of magic and serendipity, with the benefits supported by both research and our experience over more than 10 years of building a hyper-growth business.

The benefits of in-person collaboration

One of the key values that guides us at Rokt is ‘Better Together,’ which recognises the many advantages that come from working side-by-side with team members. Our approach of working in-person four days a week is designed to fuel our collective success, and offers a number of powerful upsides.

Creative problem-solving

Spontaneous interactions and impromptu conversations happen in an office in ways that aren’t possible in a virtual environment. Ideas and skills are shared, brainstorming sessions organically unfold, and sudden breakthroughs occur.

Face-time with colleagues enhances trust and encourages teamwork. Bringing together diverse perspectives from across the organisation can lead to innovative solutions. When solving complex problems, the support and combined knowledge of a team leads to light-bulb moments, and offers a level of security that allows the group to take smarter risks.

Accelerate your career

Our Rokt’stars are smart, driven and ambitious, and are excited to be a part of a dynamic, in-person work culture. They thrive in a collaborative environment where they can learn and grow. In-person work offers invaluable opportunities to learn from colleagues, understand best practices, and receive immediate feedback – all while offering your own experience and expertise to others. These in-person interactions can drive faster skill development and career progression, enabling each Rokt’star to make a bigger impact and unlock their full potential.

Create a vibrant workplace culture

Our value of ‘Start with the customer’ is a people-first philosophy that equally applies to our Rokt’stars. By starting with our Rokt’stars, we ask what each person needs to perform at their best and achieve their professional goals. As part of this, we invest in offices that inspire collaboration and creativity. Our workspaces are both functional and beautiful, where you might choose from a wifi-enabled rooftop or a stadium gathering space for a bigger get-together. The common areas invite interaction and connection, with fully catered complimentary lunches bringing diverse Rokt’stars together.

“When you come onsite, there’s an energy and a momentum. It’s the people you meet. It’s the pace of the office and the environment. You can sense that something really good is happening here.”
– Byron Kendal, VP of Talent at Rokt

Flexibility and a generous leave policy

While we harness the power of in-person collaboration four days a week to achieve our goals at-speed, we also see the benefits of building some flexibility into our approach. Our Rokt’stars can take advantage of:

  • One work from anywhere day each week for more focused work
  • Four full weeks of work from anywhere each year (one week per quarter), to spend time with family and friends, travel the world, and bring fresh perspectives back into the workplace

Our generous leave entitlements across a 12 month period include:

  • Five weeks of Paid Time Off (including ‘High-Five’ days – five additional days of PTO off for employees who take at least 75% of their PTO in the prior year).
  • 12 public holidays personally selected to align with individual cultural and religious preferences.
  • Paid community service: Three days per year, Rokt will pay 50% of the time committed to volunteering.
  • After five years of service Rokt’stars can unlock a paid sabbatical of four weeks of paid leave (six years of service = six weeks paid, seven years = seven weeks paid, eight years = eight weeks paid, nine years = nine weeks paid, 10 years = 12 weeks paid).
  • Generous pregnancy, paternity, compassion and bereavement leave, caregiver and sickness leave.

As Rokt continues on its high-growth trajectory, growing at 40% YOY, in-person collaboration is key to meet the demands and challenges of this rapid expansion. By embracing the most effective ways of working and recognising we are Better Together, we enable both Rokt and our incredible team of Rokt’stars to thrive.
