Rokt names new managing director
Rokt’s origins trace back to the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. And while we’ve grown to serve thousands of brands from offices across four continents, APAC is an important part of our strategic plan.
That’s why we’ve strengthened our team to welcome Craig Shotland, Rokt’s Managing Director of the APAC region. From Rokt’s Sydney office, Craig oversees all commercial and operational activities in the region, supporting business development efforts originating from Rokt’s offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and Singapore.
In addition, Craig is in charge of growing the company’s partnership network of e-commerce operators while increasing the number and type of performance marketers who can leverage Rokt’s unique transaction marketing capabilities. He also oversees Rokt’s expansion into Japan and other North Asian markets.
According to Rokt CEO Bruce Buchanan, “Craig is a seasoned executive with substantive experience in all aspects of online advertising and commerce. That background, as well as his involvement with many of the region’s leading brands, will serve Rokt well, as we step up our focus on growth across the broader APAC region.”
It should come as no surprise that Forrester predicts online retail sales in the region will double between 2015 and 2020 while several sources suggest it will not be long before APAC passes North America as the geography with the biggest digital ad spend.
Craig has dedicated his career to helping brands create and build their digital presence and advance their businesses by harnessing the power of the web. In taking on the Managing Director role at Rokt, Craig said, “APAC is a logical professional progression. However, and more importantly, it’s a team I could not be more excited to join. Smart people doing smart things in e-commerce represents enormous opportunity.”
Craig is a seasoned executive with substantive experience in all aspects of online advertising and commerce.”
– Bruce Buchanan, Rokt CEO
Craig joins Rokt from Netstarter, a multi-award-winning e-commerce agency based in Sydney. He was part of the founding team where, as Managing Director, he led more than 150 e-commerce professionals. Prior to that, Craig was a consultant at Bearingpoint where he handled strategic business restructuring, process re-engineering, IT implementation and business intelligence projects. He began his career as a consultant at PwC working on a number of global e-commerce initiatives.
Even if you’re now working with Rokt in a single market, the borderless nature of both digital media and e-commerce is such that a move to more markets, in other regions of the world isn’t difficult. Who knows? Your newest and best customers may come from the other side of the world. With Craig in place, an expansion to or within the APAC region can more easily, more effectively be accomplished.
