Meet Michael
Michael joined Rokt over 5 years ago, in May 2017, in the former Melbourne Australia office. He started as a Junior Business Development Manager and progressed throughout the years to larger and larger accounts. Currently, he oversees a team of 11 people in the NYC office, including team leaders and individual contributor sellers.
Reflecting on Rokt
What do you like most about working at Rokt?
I get asked this a lot by prospective candidates, and the same 3 things always come to mind.
The people: Rokt recruits not only some of the smartest people I know, but also the friendliest, highly driven, and outgoing personalities. I have made countless lifelong friends from Rokt, and that only continues to grow over the years.
The investment in people: Rokt does a lot to ensure we are constantly improving as people. We have access to level-up budgets, manager training programs, quarterly development sessions, direct access to leaders across the business, and more.
The investment in product: We truly do have a unique product with virtually no direct competitors.
Outside of the 3, Rokt events like its annual Global Kickoff are always unforgettable experiences and a huge reason why we have a great culture.
What are some of the changes you’ve seen since you started working at Rokt?
Short answer, a lot.
- We used to have 3 offers on the first screen a customer saw
- We didn’t have solutions engineering, product marketing, sales operations, and many more functions.
- We had under 100 people globally when I started, now, we have 252 just in NYC.
But in all seriousness, the main thing I have experienced firsthand is that we are significantly more sophisticated and able to onboard clients we had never dreamed of 5 years ago. Not to mention deliver outstanding results.
What’s your favorite memory from your time at Rokt?
Moving to NYC.
What is your favorite Rokt tradition?
GKO, hands down – breathtaking locations, fantastic people, great sessions and trainings. What’s not to love?
What are you looking forward to most over the next three to five years at Rokt?
I’d have to say the IPO. It’s going to be a huge celebration of all of the hard work over the last decade from the team.
What Rokt value do you most identify with?
Enjoy the ride. What’s work without fun?
