In honor of Rokt’s 10th anniversary this year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on all our milestones and accomplishments from the past decade. Rokt Rewind features the voices of Rokt’stars who have been part of the Rokt journey since the very beginning. Read on to hear their story and thoughts on Rokt’s past, present, and future.

Meet Mindy and Andrew

Mindy joined Rokt in 2016 as an Account Manager to maintain client relationships and deliver Rokt solutions to a variety of customers across multiple industries. After a few years on the Customer Success team, she took on the role of Marketing Manager in APAC and now manages marketing and media coverage in Sydney and New Zealand. 

Andrew (“Ace”) joined Rokt in 2013 and has been an integral part of the Business Development team in APAC, especially in New Zealand and Australia. Eight years later, he is now a Commercial Director in APAC and continues to help conquer new frontiers for the team.

Mindy and Ace met through Rokt, are happily married, and live in New Zealand with their two beautiful kids.

Reflecting on Rokt

What do you like most about working at Rokt?

Mindy: It would have to be the constant growth opportunities and supportive environment to do just that: grow. I’ve been at the company for 6 years now and there’s so many possibilities to grow within the company. 

Ace: Being in the Business Development team, the customer front of Rokt is something I really enjoy. Rokt gives me the privilege to get close to many different businesses and leaders. I thoroughly enjoy meeting and building relationships with these people, learning about them, their challenges/goals, and seeing where we can help.

What are some of the key changes you’ve seen since you started working at Rokt over 6 years ago?

Mindy: When I started at Rokt, there must have been around 80 people and we are well over triple that now! Lots of new faces. The tech has evolved massively and the solutions we are providing for clients is very exciting to see.  

Ace: People! When I first started there were around 20-30 people in a Sydney office, now we are 400+ over 15+ markets around the world. It has been incredible to see this level of sustained growth and have so many great new Roktstars join the ride. The other change that goes hand-in-hand with this is the evolution of the company processes and structure to ensure nothing breaks (too often), this has also been fascinating to see and be a part of.

What’s your favorite memory from your time at Rokt?

Mindy: The most memorable would have to be when my co-worker (and now husband) told the whole company, on stage, during an awards ceremony, that we were having a baby! OR When Bruce announced that we were having GKO in Hawaii (in 2017)! 

Ace: There have been so many amazing memories that all relate to times I have been with the team in Sydney or a GKO destination.There was one particular GKO (or EOQ back then) that included a boat trip to a beach in Sydney; it was a great day that coincided with me having just succeeded in some challenges to really grow the NZ market – that one felt extra special. And, of course, meeting my wife here! 

What is your favorite Rokt tradition? (GKO, TGIF, Wellness Week, etc.)

Mindy: It would have to be GKO – especially this year’s in Hawaii. After being in lockdown, there’s nothing more exciting than travel. Plus getting to meet the whole team in person from all around the world is pretty special. 

Ace: GKOs are by far an excellent tradition at Rokt. Being in a remote office away from the core HQs in Sydney and NYC, it’s an amazing opportunity to get together with the team, feel the energy, learn from each other, and celebrate the wins in amazing locations. It’s incredibly valuable on a personal and professional level.

What Rokt value do you most identify with?

Mindy: Smart with Humility. I think this is so important. Leave your ego behind and know that we are all a team with a common goal. Supporting and empowering peers creates a powerful workplace environment. 

Ace:  I largely identify with Own the Outcomes, as I am really customer-obsessed and enjoy the opportunity to work with and deliver for clients – and when they are happy, I am happy and it is easy to Enjoy the Ride.

What are you looking forward to in the next three to five years at Rokt?

Mindy: The company is going from strength to strength, it’s so motivating to be part of such a fast moving, successful company. Bring it on!

Ace: Seeing the next Rokt! There are so many amazingly significant things happening across the business at the moment that are going to evolve Rokt massively (new clients/partners, our IPO and more). I am so excited to be a part of the journey and reflect on these accomplishments to see how far we have come.
